On 26 May 2026, students participated in a self-directed learning (SDL) music activity where they explored the use of AI in music creation through Gemini. Focusing on themes of friendship and family, students designed their own song ideas, wrote lyrics, and generated original music with the support of AI tools. Throughout the activity, students demonstrated creativity and enthusiasm as they experimented with different musical styles, moods, and instruments. The activity not only strengthened their understanding of songwriting and music expression, but also encouraged independent learning, digital creativity, and thoughtful reflection on the importance of relationships and family bonds.
