In January and February 2019, three of our S5 students devoted their after-class hours in composing an 800-word essay, a short self-introduction video and attended an interview for the Kowloon Regional Federation of Parents-Teachers Associations International Youth Exchange Scholarship Video cum Essay Competition 2019.
With diligence, two of our nominees were confirmed as the 2nd Runner-up and Champion of the Kwun Tong district. Chan Tsz Kwan, Chatzkel of S5D (2nd Runner-up) won a $500 scholarship, while Leung Chun Kit, Samuel of S5D is the Champion. As the Champion, Samuel is bestowed with the opportunity to participate in a 2-week summer exchange programme to Brisbane, Australia in July 2019, for free.
The recognition is significant to our students as they come to realise that with effort and determination, everyone stands a fair chance in making achievements in English-based competitions.

In January 2019, some of our S1 and S2 students submitted entries for the NESTA 2018-19 Comic Strip Competition that was orgranised by the Native English Speaking Teachers Association and sponsored by SCMP Young Post and Scholastic HK. The Competition aims to raise the public’s awareness towards building a harmonious school environment and supporting stressed teenagers while providing the opportunity for students to use their creativity to produce comic strips in English.
One of our students, Mok Shu Wai, Sally of S2A, was entitled as one of the eight finalists of this Competition with her piece, “Toby and Angel”. Special thanks should be given to Ms Fan Mei Yee’s guidance in artwork.
The prize serves as encouragement not only for Sally, but also for the rest of the student body that creating award-winning English texts is not an unachievable task.
